Hi, I will be moving to Portland for work ( new job) and have a preschooler. Work location is downtown ( SW 5th). Need to figure out a preschool ( Montessori preferably) and an apartment to stay. How bad is managing travel from Beaverton , should I look for apartments downtown Portland? how about preschools? Not much time left need to report Aug 8th. Preschool close to work or home?
I work in downtown portland also and have a 15 months old and currently live in Beaverton. It takes me 30-40 mins to leave my apartment (near elmonica train station) and park my car and get to my office (3rd St). I am moving to a house in Bethany area and I see that there are many desis in this area and have good schools. I dont recommend downtown.
You can stay in Beaverton near to Elmonica railway station. You can take train to reach portland downtown. I know lot of engineers stay in beaverton and work in portland downtown.
