How to get an Oregon
Driver's License
To obtain a new Oregon drivers license, you need to go to the
DMV office and
show the instruction permits, ID cards and the documents such as

If the applicant is under 18, they should have held a learners
permit for 6 months and must provide a proof which approves traffic safety
education course, or additional 50 hours of experience which is supervised.

Proof of eligibility to stay in the country or U.S. citizenship such as U.S.
passport, or foreign passport with U.S. immigration or birth certificate. The
provided proof will be electronically verified by DMV for the presence in the
country.

Proof of Social Security number such as Social Security card, or tax document or
employment related documents. The provided proof will be electronically verified
by DMV for matching the records.

Birth certificate or marriage certificate issued by the government can be
provided for the proof of legal name.
To obtain a new Oregon drivers license, you need the following things to be done

You should
choose your license. The Oregon state has three types of licenses such as
commercial, class C provisional and class C license.

In order
to become a safe driver, take a driver’s education course which will be helpful
for a safe driving.

Written
test should be taken at DMV office with an appointment and can be prepared from
Oregon Driver Manual.

On the
test day

Pay $22.50
for permit.
o
Pay $5 for
written test fee.
o
Proof
of
full legal name
and
Oregon residence address
must be
provided.
o
Proof
of
legal presence, identity and date of birth
must be
provided.
o
Proof of
social security number (SSN)
must be provided.
o
Written knowledge test should be taken.
o
Pass the
vision test.

In order
to take the road test, have car that is safe to drive.

Before
taking the road test, proof of insurance must be provided.
·
If you
pass the road test, you will be given an interim license at the DMV office.
·
If you
fail the road test, you have to wait for seven days to take the next test. If
you fail again, you have to wait for 14 days to take the next test. If you fail
again you have to wait 28 days. After 5th failure, you have to wait
at least one year to take the next test.
When will you get
the Driver's License
After passing the test, you will receive the driver’s license within
10 days by
mail
to the address as written in your application.
Moving from another
state
If you are moving to Oregon from another state, notify DMV of an
address change within 30 days. In order to apply for an Oregon driver’s license
