Topic : Flight from Chennai

Thanks guys, i am aware of the 2 stops, just wanted to check if you guys were lucky enough to find 1 stop or rather better/cheaper flight..Here is what i booked.Chennai - LondonLondon - seattle Total travel time is 22 hrs with 1.5hrs break in London. i guess this is the shortest and fastest flight time i could find. From seattle i am going to pick them personally to avoid them waiting for 3 hrs in seattle for a flight to PDX.(waiting for admin approval)

Hi there,I just flew to PDX last week with two 23kg bags through checked in from my hometown to PDX. Im student so Im actually allowed 3 bags but two were enough for me. So heres how I did it. Tip 1: Always buy connecting ticket. My first flight was from RAJ to BOM(mumbai) with Jet and as all of my flights were connecting they allowed me to check-in two bags on domestic flights also. Also once I gave my bags at RAJ, I received them straight at US. So I flew from BOM to EWR(Newark, NJ) with Jet with a stop at Brussels.Tip 2: You have to receive your bag at your first stop at US and then re-check them. So when I landed at EWR (my first stop at US) even though I had a connecting flight from EWR to PDX I had to receive my bags for customs and then recheck them. So after my immigration I did that. And as my flights were connecting United Airlines flew me to PDX with two bags even though US domestic flights only allow one carry on bag.So the deal here is to my best knowledge there are no flights landing PDX directly from India like I flew from BOM to EWR. There would be no flights to PDX like that so your family has to receive their bags atleast once at the first stop at USA. I guess which is pretty easy process as the airports are designed in such a way that they would know what their next step would be. Tip 3: Have $6 change or a credit/debit card to remove a cart at their first stop to carry the bags from carousel to recheck counter.Tip 1, again: Buy connecting flights!I hope this helps you to plan out a trip to PDX!
