Me and my wife are going to move to Portland in next couple of months from Nashville, Tennessee. I am looking for decent areas to live in. Any recommendations for apartments or housing neighborhood would help.
Hi Mohit,It depends on where your work place is.Most of the folks live in beaverton area and commute to downtown. Bethany(97229) is also prime area with top rated schools, trails and lot of community is around. South parc is one of great community with school bus available. We cansend you more info on areas and help if needed.thanksNG
Portland has many good neighborhoods and suburbs to settle down but if you are looking for a large Indian community , easy access to downtown , good schools , proximity to Indian grocery stores , temple etc. and in case if you are going to be working for Intel or Nike , then you should look for housing communities in Beaverton and Hillsboro . In terms of accessibility and Indian community the following are preferred by people who land here initially-Kings Court Cambridge Crossing Elmonica Court Hunters Run The rents in these four communities have however increased over the years due to the high demand and the units in most of them have become old and not being maintained well. You would however have the advantage of a large thriving Indian community and great accessibility to train station , grocery stores etc. (by walk , I mean) . You have many other choices as well in and around Beaverton and Hillsboro. You can try the following -La SalleCenter Pointe ApartmentsCedar CrestCharles CourtNorth Bethany RidgeCedar CrestSterling PointeEmerald PlaceBirch PointeHanoverWillow Grove Orenco GardenThe TerracesAmberglen West etc. etc.. and it goes on . I would suggest you to first check out the first four and then take a call .
