Hi Jayasree,We too just moved to Portland about 4 months back. A good area where you will find many Indians is Beaverton, and that will be close for your husband to go downtown for work too. They have many good play schools in the area. One particular apartment building called Kings Court has mostly Indians with many kannada speaking families. In fact, I teach classical music there since there is such a big Indian community in that apartment building. Rent too is reasonable.You can manage with 1 car since you can drop your husband to the train which will take him downtown to work and pick him up in the evening.
