Srinagar, March 21 (IANS) In order to ensure comfortable and safe stay of persons who have come from abroad and are under quarantine, the Srinagar administration has fixed roles and responsibilities of officials assigned to different quarantine centres as in-charge of relevant facilities.
Issuing strict instructions in this regard, Srinagar District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has warned that lapses will lead to strict action against concerned officials.
The fixing of roles and responsibilities came after the district administration released adequate funding to different departments for strengthening the response mechanism against the coronavirus threat.
Fundings to the tune of Rs 3 crore have been released to the health and municipal departments and other concerned officials of the district. The funding released under SDRF is to be used for procuring requisite equipment for effective response mechanism against coronavirus.
Concerned officials have been instructed to ensure provision of all requisite facilities ranging from daily sanitisation and cleaning of rooms including toilets, twice-a-day medical screening and updation of reports and their forwarding to the Covid-19 control room.
The district administration is releasing more funds to the concerned officials for this specific purpose "in order to ensure that all requisite facilities are made available at all quarantine centres set up in the district".
