11/23/1926	Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose, Indian plant physiologist and physicist, passed away. He investigated the properties of very short radio waves, wireless telegraphy and radiation-induced fatigue in inorganic materials. His physiological work involved comparative measurements of the responses of plants exposed to stress. His invention of highly sensitive instruments for the detection of minute responses by living organisms to external stimuli enabled him to anticipate the parallelism between animal and plant tissues noted by later bio-physicists.á
12/19/1978	The Lok Sabha expels Indira Gandhi from the House and sentences her to imprisonment for a term lasting its prorogation. She was released from jail on December 26.

12/1/2000	An armed intruder snipes at naval commando Satvir Singh at the official residence of the Navy Chief Admiral Sushil Kumar in the high- security Rajaji Marg area in New Delhi. The Navy sets up an enquiry board to probe the incident.
