11/2/1774Lord Robert Clive, one of the founders of British Rule in India, British Army Chief and Diplomat, died. He committed suicide in England at the age of 49 under strain of ill health and charges of his misdeeds in India.
2/26/1966Vinayak Damodar Savarkar ""Veer Savarkar"", great revolutionary freedom fighter, social reformer, politician and writer, passed away at the ripe old age of 83. He was known for the first person to flee by swimming from Port Blair Jail and was associated with right-wing Hindu Mahasabha, started the Abinav Bharat as a secret society of revolutionary terrorists. He was a great Novelist and Poet.
3/5/1868Harishchandra Sakharam Bhatwadekar alias Save Dada, who filmed the felicitation function of Wrangler R. P. Paranjapye, was born. This film was titled as ""The Fresh Indian Regular of Cambridge University."" He was the First Short Documentary Film Maker of India.

4/3/1999Indian National Satellite (INSAT-2E), fifth satellite in INSAT-2 series, launched. This has multipurpose communication & meteorological capabilities. This is still in use.
