10/26/1961	Heavy fighting flared up between India and Communist China in their three-year-old dispute over border lines in the Himalayas. Each side accused the other of initiating the fighting that began along the Tibetan border early in October.
11/3/1997	India presents G-15 with agenda for a fair deal in Kuala Lumpur. India calls upon Group of 15 developing countries to ""build convergences among nations and encourage G-7 to pursue structured and issue-based dialogue with us'
9/7/1931	The Second Round Table conference began in London and lasted till 1st December, 1931. Congress was solely represented by Gandhi and Muslim League by Sir Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam. Two committees were set up to carry out the work of the conference on Federal Structure and Minorities. Gandhi was the member of both the committees. He claimed that being the sole representative of the Congress, he represented the whole of India. Quaid-e-Azam replied that Muslims are a separate nation. Sir Shafi demanded that the 14 points of Quaid-e-Azam be incorporated in the future constitution.

1/28/1911	The famous Hope diamond, once worn by Marie Antoinette, was bought tonight for over $300,000 by Ned McLean, son of John McLean. Mrs. McLean wore it as a head ornament, guarded by a former Secret Service man who in turn was guarded by two private detectives. Walnut-sized and exquisitely blue in color, the 44.5-carat stone stems from India. Its owners included Louis XIV, Louis XVI, and a London banker named Hope. A sinister history of ill luck, madness, and violent death clings to the unique gem.
