Historical Event on 7/7/1896
The premier show of the 'Marvel of the Century', first cinema show India, arranged by the Representatives of French Lumiere brothers- Louis and August Lumiere, was held at Watson Hotel in Bombay. The regular shows, however, started from July 14, 1896 at the Novelty Theatre. This show advertisment appeared in the 'Times of India', carrying details of a film show to be held for the first time on Indian soil.

11/24/1932	The Third Round Table Conference ended in London. As Gandhi was in prison because of his civil disobedience movement he could not attend it. This conference ended without achieving anything.
1/11/1994	Shankarrao Savekar, veteran cameraman of film industry, passed away.
9/2/1998	Nishant, the pilotless training aircraft developed by DRDO, is successfully flown from Chandipore.
4/14/1950	Sri Raman Maharshi, modern south Indian saint, passed away .
3/1/1993	Narayan Ganesh Goray passed away (1-5-98).
10/22/1912	Gandhiji accompanied Gokhale on tour of South Africa, Laurenco Marques, Mozambique and Zanzibar. He gave up European dress and milk and restricted himself to diet of fresh and dried fruits.
7/31/1996	Joginder Singh became the director of Central Bureau of Investigation (till 30/06/97).
2/25/1999	The curtains came down on the fifth National Games. Manipur won the overall championship while swimmers Nisha Millet of Karnataka and Sebastian Xavier of Kerala were adjudged the best sportswoman and sportsman respectively.
7/28/1997	Calling and holding of bandhs by political parties and other associations or organisations declared 'Illegal and unconstitutional' by a Full Bench of the Kerala High Court.
7/26/1991	Tamil Nadu and Karnataka observe bandh over Cauvery water issue.
