Gandhiji published ""The Green Pamphlet"" at Rajkot and then toured to Bombay, Madras, Poona and Calcutta educating Indians in regard to grievances of South African Indians.

12/22/1843Debendranath Tagore, father of Rabindranath Tagore, accepted Brahmo religion at the hands of Ramchandra Vidyabagish.
9/10/1920Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao was born at Hadagali in Karnataka. In 1945 he put forward the ""theory of estimation"" in statistics. His formulae and therorems, for instance the ""Cramer-Rao inequality"", ""The Fisher-Rao theorem"" and ""Rao-Black Wellistaion"" are now part of any standard textbook of statistics. For his significant contributions, Rao received the S. S. Bhatnagar Award, the Meghnad Saha Medal and the Guy medal.

He was one of the first Indians to sow the seeds of secularism in our country. He strongly believed that education was the basic necessity to change the society.
