Manesar residents grapple with registrations over lack of property IDs

Gurugram, March 31 (IANS) Residents and entrepreneurs of Manesar Tehsil continue to grapple with the registration of their properties despite the Haryana government's nod to the formation of Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM), a few months ago, to oversee all the new demands or projects that will be carried out for the development of the town.

The state government has also appointed a new Commissioner among other officials for the operations of the MCM.

It is pertinent to mention her that sale deeds, agreements and registries of land falling within the purview of the MCM are not being done without a property ID.

Manesar Naib Tehsildar, Jagdish Chand, told IANS that all the registries outside the corporation area are being completed but those coming within the limits of the civic body are being registered only after possessing a property ID.

"Those people who have a property ID or no objection certificate (NOC) by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) are not facing any kind of hurdle."

Entrepreneurs, however, claimed that IDs of all lands are being made by the MCM to collect taxes but at present, these are being made in the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG).

"The sale deeds and rent agreements of the entrepreneurs and industrial units are on hold. There is a lot of irregularities over the property IDs under the MCM. Property IDs of Manesar are being made in Gurugram. The work of making ID should be started at the office in Manesar itself. Besides, registries should be started so that people do not face trouble," Rajat Tyagi, a Manesar-based businessman, told IANS.

"People will be benefitted from the creation of a new municipal corporation if it's operations run smoothly, many entrepreneurs and local residents are not able to buy or sell properties each passing day due to not having a property ID. The MCM officials should resolve this problem soon so that registration of properties could be done hassle-free," Ram Prakash, a local resident, told IANS.

A senior MCM official on condition of anonymity said the matter has come to their notice and they have already appointed an official to deal with property-related issues.
